

Diljit Bachada I am the Principal of the Practice, and work as both a Solicitor and a Solicitor Advocate before the Crown Courts and also the Civil Courts.
My Specialist area of work is that of Criminal Defence and I represent clients from the Police Station to the Magistrates right through to the Crown Court offering full advice, assistance and continuity throughout my client's case.
I have defended in very serious cases such as Murder, Rape, Kidnapping, Indecent Assaults and Armed Robbery.
I am also the Head of the Professional Regulatory Department, upon where the Department offers full advice and assistance to Professionals who are to appear before their Regulatory bodies, such as the GMC, GDC, GTC and NMC. I have assisted Teachers, Nurses, Doctors and Dentists before their Regulatory bodies, and have had very successful results. No further action being taken against a Nurse who was alleged to have shop lifted, no further action being taken against a Dentist who appeared before the GDC for serious allegations of cross infection issues.
I successfully defended a Dentist before the GDC, upon where the Council were making an application to Erase him from the Dental Register, due to his criminal convictions, full preparation and carefully presented advocacy, I managed to persuade the Council to impose a Suspension of 12 months, thus still allowing him to practice Dentistry after the Suspension had ceased.
My hobbies include spending quality time with my 3 children, Swimming and Sankukai Karate,I am currently a brown belt and training towards my first dan black belt.
Tim Foster I qualified as a Solicitor in 1978, holding a Law Degree from Hull University. I am a specialist Family Law Solicitor, a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel, Resolution and the Law Society.
I was a partner for 21 years and Head of the Family Law Department within a west country firm, taking early retirement in 2007.
I have been a Consultant Family Law Solicitor with Hollies Solicitors & Advocates since August 2008.
I am experienced in all areas of Family Law and approach resolution of in a positive, practical and sensitive manner. I am further able to advise clients in regard to the preparation of their Wills and completion of Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Gurdeep Singh I qualified as a Solicitor in 2006 and joined Hollies Solicitors in 2009. I am a qualified Duty Solicitor. I undertake a large number of Magistrates' and Youth Court Hearings, from first appearance through to Trial and Sentence. I specialise in defending clients prosecuted for all types of Road Traffic offences. I have developed strategies for retaining driving licenses when under threat of disqualification.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in representing clients who face most serious allegations such as Murder, Rape, Manslaughter, Money Laundering and Conspiracy to Supply Drugs but to name a few.
My interests include spending time with my young daughter and playing Football and Cricket.
Belinda Ariss I qualified as a solicitor in 2000. I attended Birmingham University obtaining a Commendation in my Legal Practice Course.
I joined the Hollies in January 2010 after moving to the area with my family.
I have practised in both family and criminal law but latterly specialising in Crime. I am a duty solicitor as well as a Higher Courts Advocate, obtaining that qualification in 2009. In addition I am Prison Law Accredited.
I undertake all areas of criminal law, attending the Police Station, Magistrates Court, Crown Court and appearing in Adjudication hearings inside prisons. I have represented many people for a wide variety of crimes including, Murder, Rape and serious Drugs offences.
I have successfully defended many cases in both the Magistrates Court and Crown Court. In addition I have successfully opposed applications for cash seizure, ensuring my clients have the return of the money they had seized. I have recently appeared before the Parole Board applying for release of a prisoner serving a life sentence for Murder. I successfully obtained his release subject to conditions carefully balancing the views of the victims family with that of my client.
Kay Ramsarran I qualified in January 2009, and was delighted to join Hollies in 2010 where I deal with General Civil Litigation cases, including Debt Recovery, Property Disputes, Mediation and Professional Negligence cases.
I am proud of my high quality skills, I have successfully and satisfactorily negotiated settlement both below and above £100K via mediation.
My hobbies include pilates, going to the gym, reading, and going to the Theatre. I have also taken part in fund raising for cancer research and epilepsy in a sponsored 5k run.
Brett Wilson I am a Solicitor-Advocate and a Barrister and practices in both Civil and Criminal matters. I represent clients in both lower and higher courts. Prior to joining Hollies I worked as an in-house solicitor in the IT industry and as a wealth of experience in IT contracts, commercial disputes, software licensing, e-commerce, public procurement and has detailed knowledge of the government ICT framework agreements.
In my spare time I am a keen horse rider. I have a string of event horses which I compete and run a livery yard with my partner. I have advised and represented clients in a variety of equine matters including livery contracts, loan agreements, buying and selling and accidents involving horses.
Rebecca Carter I am Legal Secretary to all the Solicitors at the Practice undertaking all typing, billing and administration duties.
I joined the Practice in August 2008 and I am educated to A Level standard, including A Level Law. I am now working towards my Prison Law Accreditation, in order to further my career in law.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, socialising and looking after my kittens.
Nicholas Hawkings I obtained a law degree with honours from Cardiff University and subsequently qualified as a solicitor in 2011 having trained at a busy London firm specialising in Criminal Defence. I am police station accredited and have been representing clients at the police station for several years.
I have extensive experience in progressing all types of criminal cases from the police station all the way through both the Magistrates and the Crown Court. Examples of offences I have successfully defended against include theft, assault, possession and supply of drugs, robbery, burglary, sexual assault and rape.
I am also experienced in all aspects of Prison Law, including licence recalls, parole applications and adjudication hearings.
In my spare type I enjoy socialising with friends, learning languages, music and amateur dramatics.
